Hello everyone!!! We’re back with another English blog
Looks like this summer is going to be filled with continuous humid days.
Today’s topic is going to be about one of the programs our 1A students took part in. Our 1A students participated in the University of Creativity (UoC) program and did all kinds of activities.
UoC is famous for its programs that collaborate with director/animator Mamoru Hosoda. You might’ve heard of some of their pieces such as, ”The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (時をかける少女)” or “Summer wars (サマーウォーズ)”. I personally remember watching ”The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (時をかける少女)” as a kid, and enjoying the movie a lot! I recommend checking these movies out as well; you definitely won’t regret watching them 🙂
On the first day, the students watched a video that talked about the high school education system.
The video showed us how some parents were worried about their kids learning active-learning based lessons rather than the traditional way, where the teacher stands in front of the class and teaches the students how to manage good grades for university.
After watching this video, our 1A students shared their opinions with the class.
One student talked about how the education system in Japan is advancing at such a slow speed compared to other countries, hence why most people think of the active-learning based lesson as a peculiar one.
On the second day, our 1A students collaborated with another school, 聖学院高校, and talked about each schools similarities and differences. We then listened to a presentation about future innovation and the important points when creating a product/advertisement.
